Projects

This page introduces current and ongoing research projects. Each project reflects my interest in grounded and Stratad Theory, self-empowerment, and ways of resolving vulnerability and injustice.

1. Global Perspectives on South Africa’s Economy

A live survey gathering views on taxation, governance, and economic life.

  • Status: Open for participation.

  • Link: Take the survey here.

  • Aim: To develop a grounded picture of how South Africans — at home and abroad — view government, efficiency, and taxation.

2. Self-Empowerment Theory

My doctoral research at the University of South Africa.

  • Focus: How women resolve vulnerability to physical violence.

  • Method: Classic Grounded Theory, extended through Stratad Theory.

  • Goal: To build a precise, evidence-based framework for empowerment and resilience.

3. Stratad Theory

An original methodology I developed as an evolution of grounded theory.

  • Focus: Producing theories that are precise, layered, and conceptually robust.

  • Application: Qualitative research across psychology, law, and social science.

  • Current Work: Refining the method and demonstrating its use in multiple projects.

4. Injusticing Theory

A sociopsycholegal Stratad Theory of harassment in South Africa.

  • Focus: Understanding how harassment operates, how victims respond, and how systems reinforce or fail to address it.

  • Status: Recent paper available here.
